Troops serving the 5 Gemunu Regiment (GR) of the 121 Brigade Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters Central (SFHQ-C) repaired the bund of the Demodara tank as per directions of Colonel B.M.J Baalasooriya, Brigade Commander, 121 Brigade on Friday (27).
Troops responded timely and repaired the tank bund, preventing any breach of the bund by placing sand bags as the water level rose. Troops succeeded in taking preventive measures against the disaster that would have struck.
Civilians in the area appreciated the dedicated task of the soldiers.
