Troops Organized ‘Dansel’ Attract Five Digit Numbers

Troops in the 22 Division organized a free eatery (Dansela) at 2 Gajaba Regiment (GR) ground in Trincomalee town centre to coincide with the Poson Poya Day (19).

Unit Commanding officers and other officers serving in Brigades and Units of the 22 Division provided their financial contribution to make the project a success.

More than 12, 000 civilians shared meals with others during the arrangement. In the meantime, another similar eatery was conducted at the historic Somawathiya premises, Polonnaruwa on the same day.

All troops serving under 22 Division contributed to the Dansel programme and Mr Sunil Muthukumara, Owner of the Sunil Traders was the main sponsor of the programme.

A few more than 88,000 civilians and devotees from the area attended those arrangements programme.

General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General K.M.U Wijerathne took part in the opening occasions.
