Troops Offer School Accessories &;amp; Labour for House Construction

 

Groups of soldiers serving 623 and 621 Brigades under the 62 Division of the Security Forces Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W) offered their labour assistance for construction of houses, sponsored by Divisional Secretariats and National Housing Development Authority.

11 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops actively supported the foundation-laying ceremony for a house at Marathodai village, north of Vavuniya. The recipient, Ms Annam Mary, a poor lady was to receive raw materials for the construction from the Vavuniya north Divisional Secretariat.

In the meantime, 9 (v) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) troops serving Welioya area volunteered their labour and assisted the construction of five more new houses to the poor in the area. National Housing Development Authority sponsors the construction of those houses. The one to be built at Kalyanapura under Stage 1 to Mr A.D Sunil Bandara was to receive continuous support.

Meanwhile, 11 GW troops under the 623 Brigade with their own collections bought pens, pencils, books and school accessories for eight poor students, learning at Unvalkaddu Primary School, Unvalkaddu. They were distributed among them on Wednesday (Dec 5) by those soldiers.
