A huge sapling planting drive, launched by the 121 Brigade troops as an addition to the ongoing ‘Thuru Mithuru Nawa Ratak’ project, introduced by General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army,in order to increase the national forest cover and beautify the country saw 900 saplings of Kumbuk, Naa and Mee were planted in Buttala Raja Maha Viharaya premises within a single day on Friday (12).
