The 57 Division troops under command to the Security Force HQ - Mullaittivu carried out several community projects to uplift the living standards of the civilians in the region in the past few days.
Accordingly, 7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) and 9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops built a new house for the needy family of Mr M Wijendran in Rathnapuram area with the financial contribution received from Sponsors.
On the inaugural warming day, troops donated 20 dry ration packs for needy families in the area.
In the meantime, troops of the 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) under the 572 Brigade constructed one more house for Mr Sammuganathan Thilipan in Puththadi, Vishuamadu with financial sponsorship made available by Philanthropists.
Similarly, troops of the 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment serving the 573 Brigade constructed a house to Mr Jeganathan Pathmaselan in Malayalapuram following sponsorship given by Philanthropists.
On the same occasion, 20 more dry ration packs were distributed among the needy in the area.
Major General Sisira Pilapitiya, Commander, Security Forces – Mullaittivu graced inaugural warming ceremonies and handed over the keys hosues to the beneficiaries during simple ceremonies, held in keeping with health guidelines.
Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, General Officer Commanding 57 Division, Brigadier Wasantha Palamakubura, Brigadier General staff Security Forces Mullaithivu, Brigadier Chaminda Gamlath, 571 Brigade Commander, Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala, 572 Brigade Commander and few senior Officers took part in those warming ceremonies.
