Three More Deaths Reported-NOCPCO

As of this morning (8), a total of 532 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, were 7 Sri Lankan expatriates and other 525 are locally-identified ones, including the majority 226 from Colombo district, 72 from Kandy district, 50 from Gampaha district and other 177 are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (8), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 43,001. Meanwhile, 36,903 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from the fish market (39,942) and Minuwangoda (3,059) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.

By this morning (8), a total of 46,779 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 39,660 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 6,897 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

By this morning (8), 638 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres in the past 24 hours. 03 more deaths have been reported from Meethirigala, Beruwala and Colombo 14 area in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 222 by this morning (8).

By this morning (8), the flight 6E 9034 from India with 29 passengers and the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 30 passengers, the flight UL 455 from Japan with 45 passengers and the flight UL 605 from Australia with 157 passengers have arrived.

The flight UL 102 from the Maldives with 30 passengers, the flight UL 1208 from Italy with 32 passengers, the flight UL 190 from Bangladesh with 10 passengers, the flight PQ 555 from Ukraine with 159 passengers, the flight UL 320 from Malaysia with 5 passengers, the flight UK 1708 from South Africa with 35 passengers, the flight EK 648 from the UAE with 75 passengers and the flight SQ 468 from Singapore with 19 passengers are expected to arrive here within the day. They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centers (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
