Tamil Proficiency Course in Kili Completed


The second phase of the spoken Tamil Language Course, organized by the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) in order to improve Tamil language proficiency among military personnel serving the SFHQ-KLN, concluded on 18 February 2015 at the Advanced Infantry Platoon Training (AIPT) School, Bharathipuram.

30 students followed the course which commenced on 13 January 2015 with the help of one officer and eight other rank instructors in the Army.  

The highlight of the closing ceremony was a drama, staged by course attendees using Tamil language. Following attendees did well and secured the best three places during the course and carried away merit awards and certificates, together with others. Accordingly, Lance Corporal K.N.N.P Amarasekara of 6 Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, Lance Corporal K.D.A.N Gamini of 4 Military Intelligence Corps and Corporal N.P.R Melroy of 20 Sri Lanka Light Infantry secured the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.   

Colonel General Staff, SFHQ-KLN Senior Officers and Instructor officers/other ranks attended the closing ceremony.
