THE Army pays more attention to their professional training aspect now after the eradication of terrorism from the country. The Buddy Trio Training Course for Volunteer Troops was recently completed at the Buddy Trio Training School, in Mulankavil situated in the Security Forces Headquarters, Kilinochchi. It was successfully concluded and its Passing Out Parade was held on 21st May at the Training School premises. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the Security Forces Commander, Kilinochchi Major General Chandana Rajaguru. 2/Lieutenant J.S Liyanage of 5th Gajaba Regiment became the Best Student in the Course.
Meanwhile, the third intake of Advanced Infantry Platoon Training (AIPT) School under Security Forces Headquarters, Kilinochchi had its Passing Out Parade on 22 May 2010. Some 334 volunteer troops soldiers passed out after 30 days of rigorous training at the school. Security Forces Commander, Kilinochchi Major General Chandana Rajaguru was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The Best Platoon of the Course was 16th Volunteer Sri Lanka Light Infantry and the Best Student was 2/Lieutenant D.M.T Kumara of 18th Volunteer Gajaba Regiment. After the POP, students demonstrated a symbolic raid on an enemy hideout.
