Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army made his formal maiden visit to Mr Ruwan Wijewardene, Hon State Minister of Defence at the Ministry of Defence this morning (26).
During the courtesy call, Mr Wijewardene extended his best wishes and greetings on the new Commander of the Army and assured his best support for performance of the Commander’s duties.
The brief meeting culminated after the Commander of the Army presented the Hon Minister with a symbolic memento.
Minutes after that meeting, the Commander, took time off to pay his courtesy visit to the Secretary Defence, Mr B.M.U.D Basnayake at the Ministry of Defence.
Mr Basnayake during his official meeting with the Commander of the Army extended his greetings and best wishes and assured his best cooperation for conduct of affairs in the Commander’s appointment.
Lieutenant General De Silva presented a memento to the Secretary Defence as a token of memory of his visit to him before the culmination of the meeting at the Ministry of Defence. The gesture was reciprocated by the Secretary Defence.
