The Sri Lanka Army continues its efforts to rescue and relocate people affected by the adverse weather conditions impacting the island.
From 25 to 28 November 2025, the Sri Lanka Army carried out operations that included clearing 43 obstructed roads, repairing 9 tank bunds, restoring 2 riverbanks, and conducting 192 rescue missions. Through these operations, a total of more than 2,453 displaced individuals have been rescued so far.
In addition, over 24,000 troops have been deployed for ongoing rescue missions. 15 search-and-rescue teams, 18 Unicorn/Uni Buffel vehicles, 26 WMZ/BTR vehicles, 30 boats, and 35 Outboard Motors(OBM) have been mobilized for these efforts.
The Sri Lanka Army is also maintaining 488 emergency safety centers across all districts of the country. These centers are currently providing relief services to 43,925 individuals belonging to 13,690 displaced families.
