Sri Lanka's UN Observers Mark Independence

Sri Lanka’s UN observers in Western Sahara (MINURSO) on account of Sri Lanka’s Independence Day held a special ceremony to commemorate the event.

Lieutenant Colonel Nalin Herath, Major Ishara Weliwita and Major Ruwan Gunaratne who are currently serving under the MINURSO, hoisted the National Flag on 4 February 20s15 and saluted it before the national anthem was sung as a mark of respect.

Staff at the MINURSO Headquarters also joined the event, followed by a tea party.
