Special Infantry Operations Course 50 (2014/II) Pass Out On 24 August 2014

19 officers and 190 other ranks who successfully completed the Special Infantry Operations (SIO) Course No. 50 (2014/II ) at the Maduruoya Army Training School, passed out in a colourful ceremony on Sunday (24).
 
At the invitation of Brigadier L.A.N.S Wanigasinghe, Commandant, Army Training School, Maduruoya, Brigadier A.A Kodippili, General Officer Commanding, 23 Division, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. After a while, presentation of awards to the best of the best took place.
 
The award for the Best Shot was presented to Second Lieutenant W A G Wanigasooriya  of Gajaba Regiment (GR) of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W). The award for the Best Section was meanwhile, presented to 5 Gemunu Watch (5 GW) of the Security Force Headquarters -Central (SFHQ-CEN). The award for the Best All-rounder went to Lieutenant C N K G Chadrasekara  of 14 Gajaba Regiment (GR)  of the SFHQ-CEN.

A Guard of Honour saluted the Chief Guest on arrival at the school after he was welcomed by the Commandant. The Chief Guest was invited to distribute trophies, shields and merit awards by the Commandant who was behind the successful completion of the project.
 
The training courses at Maduruoya Army Training School, the most leading Army institute for jungle warfare training, are now attended by foreign students and have gained international recognition.
