South-based Sri Siddhartha Foundation in Thalagala in collaboration with Tan Ngak & Kee Meng Leng Foundation Limited in Singapore, supported by the Saasanarakshaka Bala Mandalaya of Kalutara, enthusiastically engaged in relief work in the past couple of months at the request of the Army on 11 June 2022 went to Mullaittivu area and gave away 350 dry ration packs, inclusive of 05 kg of rice, one 500 g dhal packet, 01 Coconut and also 03 soya meat packets to poor people.
682 Brigade troops organized this community-oriented programme under the guidelines and instructions of Major General Rohan Ponnamperuma, General Officer Commanding, 68 Division with the blessings of the Commander, Security Forces-Mullaittivu.
During the Same Project, another 41 Children of needy families were provided extra meal packs for 6 months by inviting them to the Maathalan Roman Catholic School in Mullaittivu with sponsorship, provided by Mr Pragalitha Pushpakumara ,the Fitness Place in Matale and the owner of JSBCLLC Co. Ltd in Dubai.
Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe, Commander, Security Forces -Mullaitivu, together with Major General Rohan Ponnamperuma, General Officer Commanding of 68 Division, Brigadier Wasantha Paalamakumbura, Brigadier General Staff of the Security Forces Headquarters - Mullaittivu, Brigadier Nishantha Muthumaala, Brigadier Dhammika Gunatunga, Brigade Commander of 681 Division, Brigadier Chaminda Galappaththi, Brigade Commander of 682 Brigade, Officers and Other Ranks joined these projects.
