Ambepussa based Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) Headquarters recently won the Bronze medal for its “Eco-Friendly Digital Library”, in the “Holcim Awards-2014”of the Holcim Foundation which is an ongoing major project at the SLSR Regimental Headquarters.
The ‘Holcim Awards’ Jury for Region Asia Pacific met at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China in July 2014 and the Holcim Foundation recently announced the winning projects of the Holicim Awards 2014 during a ceremony in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The selection criterion for winners was based on sustainable construction, environmental, social and economic performance. Moreover, architectural excellence and vocational training aspect was also considered seriously.
Eco-Friendly Digital Library is housed in a state-of-the art building inside the RHQ-SLSR complex.
