Troops of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) hosted a reception and felicitated the recently-appointed Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps Major General Prabath Dematanpitiya on Thursday (17) after his arrival at the Regimental HQ upon assumption of his new office as the 56th Chief of Staff in the Army.
Colonel Ashoka Gunasekara, Centre Commandant, SLSC RHQ warmly received the day's Chief Guest on arrival and a subsequent Guard Turnout at the entrance greeted him in accordance with military formalities.
Giving pride of place to the memory of all fallen SLSC War Heroes, the new Chief of Staff laid a floral wreath at the SLSC War Heroes' monument and paid his tribute in a solemn ceremony. Later on, the Parade Commander invited the day's protagonist to review the Guard of Honour, accorded in his honour and receive the salute from the special dais.
During refreshments afterwards, Major General Prabath Dematanpitiya took time off to share a few thoughts with Officers who were present at the Officers’ Mess and then he left memories by planting a sapling near the main entrance of the Regimental Centre at Panagoda.
Before concluding the day’s itinerary, the Chief of Staff sat together for lunch with all officers at the Officers’ Mess and left a couple of thoughts and compliments in the Visitors’ Book before the culmination of the day's proceedings. affiliate link trace | jordan Release Dates
