A CEREMONY to mark the completion of the award of parchments to Light Infantry War Heroes, in appreciation of their services rendered in the battlefield was held on Thursday (14) at the Sri Lanka Light Infantry auditorium, Panagoda.
The project was initiated recently by Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya and Thursday’s (14) ceremony was to mark the completion of the award to Light Infantry War Heroes.
Major General Daya Ratnayake, Colonel of the Regiment Sri Lanka Light Infantry attended as the Chief Guest. Several officers and soldiers belonging to Sri Lnaka Light Infantry Regiment received their parchments from the Chief Guest.
A large number of Light Infantry officers and soldiers also attended.
