11 Regimental teams of the Sri Lanka Army participated in the Inter Regiment Water Polo Championship - 2022” tournament, organized by the Army Aquatic Sport Committee under Open and Novices categories and finals were conducted on Wednesday (21).
Finals, held at the Army Physical Training School Swimming Pool Complex at Panagoda, were judged by the officials from Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union.
Major General Nishantha Manage, Chairman of Sri Lanka Army Aquatic Sport Committee and Brigadier Clifford De Zoysa, Vice Chairman, Sri Lanka Army Aquatic Sport Committee witnessed the final encounters and awarded certificates. A separate ceremony to felicitate them is expected to be held on 25 October.
Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) team won the championship in the Novices category, while the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) team emerged the Runner-up. The Open Category championship was won by the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) team while Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) ended as Runners up.
