The Inter Regiment Drill Competition 2022 of Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) was held from 7-9 September 2022 at the SLE Regimental Headquarters at Panagoda.
Drill platoons from 13 Engineer Regiments participated in the competition where Major General Chandana Wijayasundara, Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and Commander, Security Forces Jaffna graced the awarding ceremony as the Chief Guest on (4) October at Sri Lanka Engineers Headquarters Panagoda.
5 Field Engineer Regiment Drill platoon secured the 1st place while the 16 Workshop Engineer Regiment and 14 CBR (Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear) Regiment clinched 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
The Best Platoon commander was Captain W.A.R.K. A Wickramasingha of 16 Workshop Regiment and the Best Drill instructor recognition was awarded to the Staff Sergeant J.M Sumanadasa of 9 Field Engineer Regiment.
The Colonel Commandant awarded the Championship flag of the Inter Regiment Drill competition to the Commanding Officer of the 5 Field Engineer Regiment in recognition of their best performances.
Senior Officers, Officers, Commanding Officers, Regimental Sargent Majors and other ranks of Corps of Engineers took part in the awarding ceremony on Sunday (9).
