A Guard Turn Out and a Guard of Honour on Friday (20) saluted the outgoing Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) Major General S.W.L Daulagala who is to assume office as Director General Projects at the Army Headquarters.
He was received on arrival at the SLAVF Headquarters, Kosgama by Major General W.D.L.P Wickramasinghe, Deputy Commandant, SLAVF, together with Brigadier K. Premathilake before he reviewed the Guard Turn Out at the entrance.
Afterwards, on the request of the Parade Commander, the Chief Guest inspected the Guard of Honour, accorded to him by troops of the Gajaba Regiment in keeping with military traditions. The parade was commanded by Captain D.M.A.S Dissanayake.
Addressing the troops of the Volunteer Force, Major General Daulagala thanked the Deputy Commandant and the staff at the SLAVF for generous assistance and support extended to him during his tenure.
Before his departure, he was presented with a memento as a formality towards the end of the day’s event. A street line of officers and other rankers in the premises, finally bade farewell to the outgoing Commandant.
