The training in the basic Recruit Course No 89 at the Sri Lanka Army Recruit Training Centre (SLARTC) in Puttalam was completed on Tuesday (22) with the Passing Out Parade (POP) of 228 new recruits during a ceremony.
Major General Champaka Ranasingha, General Officer Commanding, 58 Division HQ at the invitation of SLARTC Commandant, Lieutenant Colonel Indika Kamalgoda attended as the Chief Guest in the POP.
Awards were also given to the Best Recruit and the Best in Physical Training Recruit by the day’s Chief Guest after the salute was taken.
To coincide with the POP, the newly-constructed open lecture hall in the SLARTC was also declared opened by the Chief Guest at the invitation of the Commandant, SLARTC.
