SLAGSC Supports Freshwater Fish Breeding

The release of the first shoal of 5000 freshwater fish into the freshwater fish pond, constructed by 1 Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) detachment in Ella-Kantale took place on Saturday (26).

Lieutenant Colonel C.S Demuni, Commanding Officer, 1 SLAGSC symbolically released first few sets of fish into the pond, together with his troops.

Under the guidance of the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps, Major General Kumara Handunmulla and under the full supervision of Major W.R.A.C Prasanna, Officer Commanding, the project, supported by officials in the National Aquaculture Development Authority in Dambulla is meant to further develop freshwater fish farming as a supplementary nutrition project.
