The one-month long 'Basic Agriculture Course No - 2' conducted by 2 (V) Sri Lanka Corps of Agriculture and Livestock (SLACAL) at Karandeniya ended on 18 February 2022 and the concluding ceremony was headed by Brigadier Bandula Liyanage, Centre Commandant at SLACAL.
A batch of 2 Lady officers and 29 women soldiers successfully completed the course and received their certificates from the Chief Guest.
The course curriculum included processes, connected to Organic Farming, Crop Cultivation, Food Preservation, Machinery, Animal Husbandry, Value Added Animal Feed Products, etc.
To further demonstrate their skills, a group presentation contest was also launched among course attendees. Accordingly, five groups participated in the contest at the end of the course. Major W.A.N.D Jayasundara Commanding Officer 2(V) SLACAL also participated in the event.
