SLA Regimental HQ Bids Farewell to Retiring Senior Officer

The Regimental Headquarters of Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) a few days ago bade farewell to Major General Manoj Lamahewa upon his retirement from the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army after serving more than 34 years. The brief ceremony was held at Panagoda, attended by a representative gathering of Officers and Other Ranks.

The ceremony commenced with a Guard Turnout salute, presented to him on arrival at the entrance to the premises before he was conducted to pay respect to the memory of fallen War Heroes. He laid a wreath and honoured the monument before taking the salute in the Guard of Honour, presented by SLA troops.

The outgoing senior Gunner Officer of the SLA afterwards joined All Ranks for refreshments at the WOs’/Sgts’ mess and an All Rank lunch bringing the first segment of the day's itinerary to end. As dusk fell, a formal dinner night at the Officers’ Mess awarded him a memento and commended his service to the SLA and the Army during his stay.

Senior Officers and Officers of Sri Lanka Artillery attended the dinning out held at the Officers’ Mess. affiliate link trace | Nike
