Six More Die of COVID-19-NOCPCO

As of this morning (17), a total of 616 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 05 of them are Sri Lankan expatriates and the rest, 611 are locally-identified ones, including the majority 266 from Colombo, 94 from Gampaha district, 99 from Kandy District and other 152 are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (17), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 31,066. Meanwhile, 22,244 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from both Minuwangoda (3,059) and fish market (28,007) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.

Up to yesterday (16), a total of 34,736 persons have been confirmed COVID-19 positive from all over the country, including the dead. 25,651 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 8,925 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.

By this morning (17), 785 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres within last 24 hours. 6 deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours increasing the COVID-19 death toll in the country to 160.

By this morning (17), the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 42 passengers and the flight WY 371 from Oman with 42 passengers have arrived. The flight UL 102 from the Maldives with 06 passengers is expected to arrive here. They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
