The troops of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) held a formal ceremony to bid farewell to the outgoing Commander, Security Forces (Wanni), Major General J.P.C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, on 16 March 2025.
Upon his arrival, the Senior Officer was accorded a Guard Turnout at the entrance, followed by paying floral tributes at the war heroes’ monument. He then reviewed the Guard of Honour presented by the troops of 7(V) Battalion, Sri Lanka Armoured Corps.
In his address, the outgoing Commander expressed gratitude to all ranks for their professionalism and service, which contributed to the peaceful environment and strong civil-military coordination in the region.
During the event, the Commander inaugurated the “Senura” holiday resort, a newly built facility for the benefit of all ranks. Additionally, philanthropist Mr. Senaka Rodrigo made a significant donation of hospital supplies to the Army Field Hospital Wanni with the coordination of the outgoing Commander. Major General K.M.P.S.B. Kulatunga RSP ndc psc will be succeded his appoinment in due course.
