SFHQ South Rehabilitates Panagoda Cantonment Road Network

A three-kilometer long stretch of the relatively damaged of the 6 km long road network at Panagoda Army Cantonment was rehabilitated and reopened for the use of soldiers recently (10) by the Commander Security Forces (South) Major General S. R. Manawaduge.

The project costing Rs. 44 million was funded by the Ministry of Economic Development. The provincial Road Development Authority provided engineering expertise and necessary materials while the manpower for the project and the management assistance were rendered by the Army.

Panagoda Army Cantonment which serves as the regimental headquarters of many regiments of the Sri Lanka Army had a colonial-time road network which had not been properly repaired for a considerable period of time.
