Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) continued its public welfare projects for the needy people in Kilinochchi by supplying spectacles and reading glasses during a brief ceremony on Saturday (26) at the ‘Nelum Piyasa’ Auditorium, Kilinochchi.
Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The Donation programme was sponsored by the Lions Club at Polgasovita with the assistance of George Gunarathne Optometrists, Colombo. Coordinating assistance was given to the project by the 57 Division and 571 Brigade.
During the programme, 100 selected people with poor vision were offered spectacles after they were examined for vision on an earlier occasion.
Brigadier Jayantha Senevirathne, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division, Mr. W Atigala, Chairman, Lions Club, Polgasovita, Mr. Jayantha Abeygunarathne, Managing Director, George Gunarathne Optometrists, senior officers, state officials attended the event.
