SFHQ-KLN Gets New IT Unit to Kilinochchi Madya Maha Vidyalaya


Initiatives taken by the Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) for the benefit of students at Kilinochchi Madya Maha Vidyalaya, bore fruits when the Kilinochchi Commercial Bank offered its sponsorship to have an IT Centre established in the school premises.

The new IT laboratory with 8 computers, provided by the Commercial Bank, in response to a request, made by Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ-KLN, was opened on Thursday (22) during a ceremony, attended by a large gathering.

Students at Kilinochchi Madya Maha Vidyalaya on the day of the opening of their long-felt need, conducted the invitees to the ceremony in a procession, preceded by the school band before the ceremony got underway at the school’s main hall. A Tamil student girl made the welcome speech afterwards and invited the distinguished guests to open the new IT laboratory.

Major General Udaya Perera, making a brief speech to the occasion requested the students to make maximum use of the new IT Centre in order for them to improve their knowledge to match with fast changing trends in the world.

Mr Dinesh Weerakkody, Chairman, Commercial Bank, senior bank officers, Kilinochchi Zonal Director of Education, Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ-KLN, 58 and 65 Division General Officers Commanding, Principals, Teachers, senior state officials and Army officers attended the opening ceremony.
