An initiative, taken by Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna recently resulted in distribution of cows among nine low-income groups, resident in the 52 Division sector in Jaffna.
Consequent upon a discussion Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna (SFHQ-J), has had with Mr Sunil Widanagama, Managing Director, Cherries Biscuits Company Ltd, Anuradhapura, the donation of nine cows was made to the SFHQ-J by Mr Widanagama for distribution among low-income groups.
Brigadier W.A.V.A Sudasinghe, General Officer Commanding, 52 Division after selecting the most needed families distributed those nine cows among them during a brief ceremony held in front of the 522 Brigade Headquarters, Varani.
Members of the clergy in Usan Ramanadan Kovil, Thurki Amman Kovil, provincial people’s representatives, 521, 522 and 523 Brigade Commanders and civil affairs coordinators and a gathering of civilians attended the simple ceremony.
