SFHQ-J Organized Eye Camp Examines Over 500 Civilians

Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna (SFHQ-J) in collaboration with Lions Club, Atchuvely conducted an eye camp for civilians and distributed more than 400 pairs of spectacles free of charge among them.

511 Brigade serving the SFHQ-J organized the eye clinic at Atchuvely Central College in Jaffna on Sunday (12) with the support of two eye specialists, six doctors and six opticians. Patients needing further treatment were referred to the eye clinic at Jaffna Teaching Hospital.

During the same medical camp, the Brigade Headquarters, donated gift parcels containing nutritious food, baby soap and baby cream among 55 expectant women in Atchuvely area.

Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Commander, SFHQ-J participated in the project as the Chief Guest for inauguration of the eye clinic and handed over several pairs of spectacles to civilians.

District Secretary for Jaffna Mrs. Emelda Sukumar, Regional Director of Health Services Dr. A. Ketheeswaran, Director, Jaffna Teaching Hospital Dr. P. Pawani, Kopay Divisional Secretary Mr. M. Pradeepan, President, Atchuvely Lions Club Mr. M. Raguladaran and General Officer Commanding 51 Division Brigadier Piyal Wickramarathna were also present at the occasion.
