Security Forces Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) under their diverse community oriented projects has so far effectively launched life-saving medical assistance projects, blood donation for civilians, animal husbandry projects, house construction, self-employment projects, etc for the benefit of Jaffna civilians.
Of them, quick action taken on the immediate medical need for heart surgeries in cases like the three-year old, Santhosh Gunasekaran Skandaraja of the ‘Mahaviru’ village at Yogapuram, Ms Krishnakumari Kajenthini (20) of Eralalai, Kadduvani and the infant, Abisha Jagathipan (2) of East Puttur under the SFHQ-J, triggered ‘Army - Asiri Heart Care’ humanitarian project, initiated by the SFHQ-J Commander.
By Monday (19), the SFHQ-J has rescued 43 cattle from slaughter and distributed them among needy families after another round of distribution of chickens among the wanted.
In the past 10 months of the year, the troops have given away 6318 chicks among poultry farmers for income making. In addition, troops have repeatedly donated blood to the blood banks in the Jaffna hospital and other peripheral units at their request.
