SFHQ-C Troops Engage in Dengue Prevention Programmes

Officers and other ranks attached to the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) during September 10-16 conducted a series of Dengue prevention programmes in both Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

About 100 officers and other ranks of 111 Brigade joined health officials, Policemen, town council officials and volunteers who were conducting awareness programmes in Yatinuwara, Nawalapitiya, Werellagama, Kandy, Gampola and Menikhinna areas.

Similarly, another batch of 62 officers and other ranks of 112 Brigade, took part in Dengue prevention programmes in Pudaluoya, Labukele, Padiyapelella, Kalaganwatta, Nildandahinna, Lindula, Laggala, Nuwara Eliya, Ragala, Udapadiyapelella, Mandaramnuwara, Ruppe, Kotagala, Hatton, Badupola, Malbero, Uppercut town council library and Bogawantalawa areas in the Nuwara Eliya district.

Major General Mano Perera, Commander, SFHQ-C has given directions to the troops in this regard in response to the request, made by state agencies for assistance.  

Meanwhile, the SFHQ-C troops during September 14-20 continued to supply drinking water to the civilians affected in various areas, served by the SFHQ-C.
