SFHQ - C with Elaborate Programmes Commemorates its 4th Anniversary

Traditional military formalities and religious observances marked the commemoration of the 4th anniversary of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ - C) during March 3-16.

Troops organized a charity programme, mainly on Friday (3), and offered lunch to the children at Siri Sagabo centre for children in Ambewela, Bandarawela.

Afterwards, a religious programme was conducted at the Temple of Tooth and invoked blessings on the flags and the serving staff. Merits were also transferred on the fallen during the same occasion.

Major General P.U.S Vithanage, Commander, SFHQ - C received a Guard Turnout salute and a Guard of Honour presented by the 18 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops as part of the arrangements.

The visiting Commander posed for a group photograph and planted a sapling in the camp premises to mark the SFHQ day and sat with an all ranks for lunch, together with General Officers Commanding (GOCs), Brigade Commanders, Officers and Other Ranks.

An evening, a musical show at Muttukumaru grounds in Diyatalawa with the participation of the Commander, SF - C and all ranks culminated the anniversary ceremonies as the final segment of the anniversary programme.
