SF-MLT, SF-C & SF-W Troops Conduct Religious Programmes on Poya Day

On account of the recent Unduwap Full Moon Poya Day, a ‘Bodhi Pooja’, (meritorious act) organized by 16 Corps of Engineer Services (CES) was held on Tuesday (13) at Muladhipa Temple inside the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT).

Ven Ranawaka Damminda Thero, Chief Incumbent at Monarawewa Temple conducted the Dhamma sermon after the Pooja.

Blessings were invoked on all serving soldiers and merits transferred to the dead during the arrangement.

Representing the Commander, SF-MLT, Colonel H. G. P. M Kariyawasam, Colonel General Staff, SFHQ-MLT, together with senior officers, officers and other ranks attended the programme.

Meanwhile, one more ‘Bodhi Pooja’ was organized by the Security Force Headquarters – Central (SFHQ-C) on Tuesday (13) at Bodhikanda Temple.

Representing the Commander, Security Forces –Central (SF-C), Brigadier I.O.W Madola, Brigadier Administration and Quartering (BAQ), SFHQ-MLT, together with senior officers, officers and other ranks participated in the Bodhi Pooja programme.

215 soldiers attended the programme. Ven Premananda Thero, In charge at Bhikku ward at Baddulla Hospital conducted the Dhamma sermon after the Pooja.

In the meantime, another Bodhi Pooja programme was held at Galkulama-based 62 Division Headquarters premises of the SFHQ-Wanni on Wednesday (14).

Ven. Lewke Gnanissara Thero and Ven. Heenatipana Kande Chandakitti Thero of the Sri Buddha Rakkitha Bhikku Training Centre at Katukeliyawa conducted the Dhamma sermon and the discussion prior to the Bodhi Pooja programme.

Around 350 members of the troops serving the 62 Division joined the Dhamma programme.

Major General B.H.M.A Wijesinghe, General Officer Commanding, 62 Division and the Brigade Commander, 623 Brigade together with officers and other ranks attended the programme.
