SF-E Commander Makes Formal Visit to 3 MIC

Commander, Security Forces-East recently made a formal visit to the 3 (Volunteer) Military Intelligence Corps (MIC) Headquarters at Giritale.

On arrival at the Headquarters, the Commander, SF-E, Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi was welcomed by the Commanding Officer, 3 MIC, Major W.M.J.K Karunaratne.

He was honoured in a Guard Turnout in accordance with military formalities at the entrance and thereafter the Commanding Officer introduced all the Officers of the battalion to the Commander, SF-E as a formality.

During his stay, he planted a Mango sapling in the premises to mark his visit to the 3 MIC. After that, a newly-constructed kitchen in the premises was opened by the visiting Commander during his stay there.

The visiting Commander also addressed the troops after the Commanding Officer conducted a comprehensive briefing on its role and tasks, present deployment, current issues, etc. After the briefing, SF-E Commander visited the camp premises and participated in an all rank lunch.
