Security Forces Commander in Jaffna Meets Jaffna Diocese's Bishop of South India

Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera paid homage to the Church of South India in Jaffna Diocese in Vaddukoddai on Wednesday (10) after assuming duties as the Commander Security Forces - Jaffna.

At first, he made a courtesy call on the Bishop of Church of South India in Jaffna Diocese Rt. Rev. Dr Daniel S. Thiagarajah and received his blessings at the historical Vaddukkodai church that was established in 1627 AD. During the interaction, he explained the series of civil-military coordination, being conducted by the troops in the Jaffna peninsula.

The duo renewed their old ties of goodwill that began some six years ago when Major General Priyantha Perera served as the Commander 513 Brigade in Keerimalai before he was appointed the Jaffna Commander.

During the friendly interaction, the Security Forces Commander proposed his plan to convert the Vaddukoddai ground to be a national level cricket stadium, in which cricketers from the South and the North could play together while encouraging them to play tournaments and reflect reconciliation. Later, the Commander Security Forces - Jaffna inspected the church's ongoing renovation work, being driven by the troops.

General Officer Commanding 51 Division and Brigadier General Staff of the Security Force HQ Jaffna were also present at this occasion. Running sport media | adidas
