Scouting Introduced to Kilinochchi Schools


Takin an initiative to introduce Boy Scouting to Kilinochchi schools, Security Forces Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) organized a two-day workshop on 'Scouting' for teachers of 30 schools in the area recently.

The workshop, conducted by a team of six Scout instructors from Colombo, Vavuniya and Jaffna, headed by the Commissioner of Scouting in Kilinochchi Mr. Subramaniyam, was attended by 22 school teachers serving in the area.

On the directions of the Security Forces Commander Kilinochchi Major General Udaya Perera, 5 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) troops made all the necessary arrangements for the workshop.

5 SLAC troops also arranged a Sinhala language awareness programme for the children of the area. This was launched with the intention of improving the knowledge of Sinhala language among children living in Kilinochchi area.
