12 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops of the 523 Brigade Headquarters under the 52 Divison of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna coordinated the distribution of Scholarships and school accessories to school achievers in the Jaffna district and also to students at Jaffna Navatkuli Vidayalaya with sponsorship, provided by Sri Lanka Nippon Educational & Cultural Foundation (SLNECF), headed by Ven Meegahatenne Chandrasiri Nayake Thera, General Secretary, SLNECF, Chief Sangha Nayake for Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte.
Those scholarships under the SLNECF's Foster Parents Project were meant for students of low-income groups, clever at learning. The distribution ceremony took place at Navatkuli buddhist temple after inviting those selected students to the temple, together with their parents and teachers on Saturday (27).
Members of the Maha Sangha, led by Ven Meegahatenne Chandrasiri Nayake Thera, 523 Brigade Commander, Commanding Officer, 12 GW, Officers, Other Ranks and parents witnessed the distribution ceremony.
