The retiring 56th Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army and the 13th Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Signal Corps Major General Prabath Dematanpitiya, received his final customary farewell on Thursday (14) at Panagoda SLSC Regimental Headquarters.
Major General Prabath Dematanpitiya in conformity with military traditions was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant, Colonel Ashoka Gunasekara on arrival and accorded a Guard Turnout at the main entrance to the RHQ SLSC.
Afterwards, he laid a floral wreath at the War Heroes’ monument in remembrance of fallen War Heroes before he was honoured in a Guard of Honour parade. He later on addressed all troops of units via live webcast and took time to address all officers separately. After the officers' address, the retiring Colonel Commandant was awarded a souvenir in appreciation of his reputed service, rendered to the SLSC Regiment.
