Retiring SF West Commander Felicitated

A felicitation ceremony for retiring Major General Chula Abeynayake, Commander, Security Forces- West and Colonel of the Regiment of the Gemunu Watch (GW) was held at the Regimental Centre at Kuruwita on 10 December 2020 in accordance with military traditions upon his retirement from the Army after completion over 35 years of service.

The Centre Commandant, Brigadier Roshan Jayamanna welcomed the Chief Guest and invited him to review the Guard Turnout at the main entrance and accompanied him to the parade ground to receive the Guard of Honour before he paid tribute to fallen war heroes at the GW monument.

All Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment Centre extended their heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished Highlander for his commitment and dedication to the Gemunu Watch and wished him a healthy and prosperous future.

Senior Officers including the new Colonel of the Regiment, GW, Major General Kumara Jayapathirana, Commander Security Forces-Central, and all Officers of the Gemunu Watch afterwards joined refreshments and extended their deep sense of gratitude and appreciation to the day's Chief Guest.
