Major General Kumara Peiris the 18th Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and the Additional Director Army Headquarters Construction Project, made a formal visit to the Field Engineer Brigade Premises on 15 January 2021 prior to his retirement.
The Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Commander Plant Engineer Brigade, Brigadier Mahinda Jayawardana who is overlooking duties of Commander Field Engineer Brigade and Commanding Officer 8 Field Engineer Regiment Lieutenant Colonel P.G.P.A Wijerathne on arrival.
During his visit, Colonel (Project) Field Engineer Brigade and Commanding Officer 8 Field Engineer Regiment conducted a formal briefing on existing deployment and operational environment. During the visit, the retiring Colonel Commandant addressed the troops of the Field Engineer Brigade and 8 Field Engineer Regiment while extending best wishes and planted a sapling to mark his visit to the Engineer Brigade.
