Retired Army Personnel in the East Provided Medical Help

Troops of the 22 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR), 8 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) and 27 SLNG recently organized several“Shramadana” campaigns to clean the Serunuwara Hospital premises and assisted reconstruction of the road in Sandiweli area.

At the same time, troops of the 27 SLNG  distributed lunch packets for the inmates at the Ichchalanpaththu Hospital in Trincomalee area on Tuesday(03).
    
Meanwhile, troops of the 24 SLNG organized a Cricket Tournament with civilians in the area at the Singhapura playground on Tuesday (03) as one more community project.

Troops of the 27 SLNG also distributed school amenities among the students at Singithi pre-school in Somawathiya area with the sponsorship of the teachers of the Royal College, Colombo on Tuesday (03).

In the meantime, 233 Brigade troops of the 23 Division gave away dry ration packets to 70 families at Kadiraweli, Tikkana area. Moreover, 233 Brigade troops organized a Bodipooja in connection with the 67th Independence Day on February 4 .

A medical clinic organized by the Forward Maintenance Area (East) on the directions of the Security Forces Headquarters (East) provided prosthetic and orthopedic services for retired and medically condemned Army personnel.

It was conducted during January 29-30 at the 7 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) premises in Minneriya. Participants identified defects in their artificial limbs during this two-day long technical support programme and got them amended or repaired.

Meanwhile, several representatives from the Directorate of Pay & Records, Directorate of Veterans’ Affairs, Directorate of Welfare, Directorate of Legal and Directorate of Medical Services joined to assist to solve administrative issues of those participants. Around 75 military personnel received assistance from this programme.
