To coincide with the 65th National Independence Day, the Security Forces Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) distributed 100 dry-ration packets and school accessories, valued more than Rs. 1 million among newly-resettled families and their children during a ceremony at Kelebogaswewa Community Centre on Sunday (3).
Sponsorship to this worthy project was offered by the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress (ACBC) at Colombo 7 following coordination, done by the SFHQ-W. A total of 152 school children received shoes, bags, books and educational accessories on the occasion, in addition to the distribution of dry-food items.

Etambagaskada Kalyanatissa Nayaka Thero, Northern Province Deputy Sanghanayaka, Mr Jagath Sumathipala, Chairman, ACBC, Mr Anura Gunadasa, Vice Chairman, ACBC, Dr Rani Fernando, Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W, General Officer Commanding, 56 Division, Brigadier Administration at SFHQ-W, 563 Brigade Commander, several ACBC officials and a large gathering witnessed the brief ceremony.
Kelebogaswewa area has people of all three major ethnicities and the SFHQ-W in coordination with state agencies have taken all measures to further improve infrastructure facilities of these resettled people on the instructions of Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W who delivered a brief speech on the occasion.
