Removal of Earth Mound Resumes Traffic Movements

An earth mound that obstructed the public and vehicle movement on the Nallathanniya -Maskeliya main road, was entirely removed by 112 Brigade troops of the 11 Division on Friday (5) after torrential rains caused havoc.

Major General Kalpa Sanjeewa, General Officer Commanding of the 11 Division instructed the troops for the task which was closely supervised by Colonel Chandima Kumarasinghe, the Brigade Commander of the 112 Brigade.

19 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops of the 112 Brigade with the assistance, provided by Urban Development Authority employees, carried out the task within hours.

01 Officer and 10 Other Ranks of the 19 Sri Lanka National Guard joined the project with state workers.
