Two rehabilitated ex-combatants, R. Rameshwaran, father of five children and P. Prabha were among recipients of new houses, built by the Army in 54 Division area under the Security Force Headquarters – Wanni (SFHQ-W).
Two rehabilitated ex-combatants, Ramanadan Rameshwaran, the father of five children from Wettiyamurippu, Pakyarasa Prabha from Ilandamotei and a widow who have three children from Wasanthyapuram, Pesalai received the keys of those new houses during a brief ceremony.
The constructions were conducted with the directions of Major General Boniface Perera and under the guidance of Brigadier M.A.M. Dias, General Officer Commanding, 54 Division in Mannar.
Troops serving the 25 Gemunu Watch (GW) and 25 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) of 541 Brigade, 15 GW of 542 Brigade and 21 GW of 543 Brigade supplied labour for the project.
Religious leaders, Senior Officers of 541,542 and 543 Brigades and villagers attended the Occasion.
