One more batch of 313 rehabilitated former LTTE combatants found their new freedom from clutches of terrorism and went home freely on Sunday (13), to join with their parents or wives.
The ceremony that inducted those former combatants as a new peaceful breed of citizens, devoid of ethnic discrimination, caste or creed after intensive rehabilitation was conducted by the office of Commissioner General of Rehabilitation, took place at the Vavuniya Town Council cultural hall, headed by Minister of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms Mr Chandrasiri Gajadeera.
Those rehabilitees during their one-year stay in different rehabilitation centres received training in carpentry, masonry, water drainage, motor mechanism, welding, ornamental fish breeding, fresh water fish industry, psychology, sports, etc after they underwent a series of lectures conducted by eminent scholars of different spheres.
