Competent Authority for Resettlement in North and Commander Security Forces, Wanni Major General G D H K Gunaratne and Commander, Area Headquarters Mannar Brigadier M A M Dias were among participants in two separate recent conferences held in Vavuniya and Mannar District Secretariats.
Minister of Economic Development Mr Basil Rajapaksa on tour to both Vavuniya and Mannar districts chaired these rounds of meetings, in which progress regarding ongoing development work, restoration and renovation work, supply of essentials, resettlement projects, etc was reviewed and evaluated.
Minister Rajapaksa was accompanied by Ministers Bandula Gunawardena, Milroy Fernando and Rishad Badurdeen during this visit.
Governor for Northern Province Major General (Retd) G.A. Chandrasiri, Commissioner General for Essential Services Mr. S P Divarathne and senior state officials in the area attended those review meetings.
