Mr. N.K. Illangakoon, Inspector General of Police (IGP) extended a warm welcome to Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army when the latter called at the Police Headquarters Monday (9) afternoon as a formality upon his assumption of new office at the Army Headquarters.
A Guard of Honour, presented by a representative group of Police Officers at the Headquarters premises saluted the visiting Commander of the Army who was making his first courtesy visit to the IGP.
At the IGP’s office, both Lieutenant General De Silva and Mr Illangakoon exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and current security challenges in general.
Towards the end of the cordial meet, they both exchanged mementos and the visiting Commander signed the visitors’ book at the IGP office.
