Pawakkulam Villagers Get Army Medical Assistance


The Civil-Coordination office of the 211 Brigade Vavuniya in liaison with FRIDSRO organization of Bokkawela, organized a medical and dental clinic at remote Pawakkulam Unit 2 village on Tuesday (29).

The clinic, organized under the guidance of the Security Force Commander Wanni, Major General M. H. S. B. Perera and the 211 Brigade Commander Colonel M. K. S. Silva, drew over 300 civilians who otherwise had to travel a long distance from their homes to seek medical assistance. The project conducted from 9.00 am till 3.00 pm at Pawakkulam Grama Niladhari’s Office cost Rs. 95,000/=.

Civil Affairs Officer of 211 Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel T. M. G. B. Thennakoon and a large number of Senior Army Officers were present at the event.
