Outgoing DG Agriculture Commended for His Committed Service

Major General A.K.A Buwaneka Gunarathne, Director General Agriculture and Livestock in the Army on the eve of his retirement from the Army received plaudits and commendation from the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva this morning (30) during a meeting at the Commander's office.

Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva commending Major General Gunarathne's excellent service, spanning more than three decades spoke high of his memorable achievements, particularly in the field of agriculture and livestock in the most recent years and wished him good luck with his future endeavours.

Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva also acknowledged the exemplary contribution he has made towards the growth of the Army and shared a few thoughts with the retiring Major General. Towards the end, Lieutenant General Silva awarded a special memento to the retiree as a symbol of appreciation and commendation.
